Jean Shinoda Bolen will share her views on Gaia the Living Earth, Goddess, Archetype and Mother of Us All. Gina Salį shares the power of sacred song and how your voice is medicine. Gaia is in the photograph of Earth from Outer Space, at Newgrange on the Winter Solstice, and in the song, "We all come from the Goddess and to her we shall return…" She is ancient mother and whose health is threatened by global warming and nuclear winter, now that humanity has the destructive power to turn our beautiful planet into a wasteland. In the Grail Legend, there is a mysterious grail, which is always carried by a woman, and a wounded Fisher King (patriarchy) whose kingdom is a wasteland. Only the grail can heal him and restore and green the wasteland. Might we individually and collectively be grail carriers? (that it is up to us to save the planet is her message in Like a Tree). Might the whole world be in our hands? Gaia Hypothesis, Quantum science, the need for an indigenous spirituality are related insights. Gina Salį offers tried and tool techniques and tools for opening to greater freedom in voice and heart. She will share careful pronunciation of mantra so that participants can feel the difference. And she offers delightful joyful songs that keep ringing in our hearts, rippling out as blessings throughout our lives.

In 'paying it forward,' woman finds way to inspire others

This is "What Women Want" — and no, it doesn't involve Mel Gibson. "What Women Want" is a brand new, twice-monthly inspirational talk at Waterstreet Café at Battleship Cove. It features prominent women business owners, writers and other speakers who aim to inspire their fellow working women. "I wanted to bring in women speakers to boost other women in our community. Working women who have families feel spread thin these days. They wonder if they're doing the best they can. I know, because I'm one of them," said Janine Ouellette Sullivan, who started the series.
