As Chris often points out, we are today participating in the most important religious and spiritual reformation we have ever seen in history. Our relationship with the divine is being merged with our care for the earth and the struggles of its inhabitants. A new sacred activism is emerging that is changing all our lives and gathering people from different religions and traditions in a united effort to further peace and justice. We are called to achieve a greater freedom for our sprit as well as develop a larger sense of compassionate solidarity with all those who are suffering. This new wave of spirituality is giving the planet a chance to survive its serious challenges, catalyzing individuals and filling them with a sense of passionate participation and rich hope." In 'paying it forward,' woman finds way to inspire others

This is "What Women Want" — and no, it doesn't involve Mel Gibson. "What Women Want" is a brand new, twice-monthly inspirational talk at Waterstreet Café at Battleship Cove. It features prominent women business owners, writers and other speakers who aim to inspire their fellow working women. "I wanted to bring in women speakers to boost other women in our community. Working women who have families feel spread thin these days. They wonder if they're doing the best they can. I know, because I'm one of them," said Janine Ouellette Sullivan, who started the series.
