Bill Birdsong

My name is Bill Birdsong. I live in Puyallup, WA. I work for Alaska Airlines as a maintenance controller. I heard about Positive Changes over a local radio station. I listened to it for probably 8 months to a year before I finally decided to make a call. I guess what finally made the decision for me was learning that nothing else was working for me. I finally got the message from the ad, which stated that I needed to change my lifestyle in a positive way, so I made the call. Before coming to Positive Changes, being overweight was something that was constantly on my mind. It was a day-to-day hassle. Everything, every aspect of my life somehow revolved around the problem with being overweight and the feelings I had with the way I perceived myself. I was probably grossly overweight for 15 to 20 years.

To date, Ive lost 105 lbs and a total of 14 inches off my waist. My clothes have gone from a pants size of 50 to a 36, which is what I wear now. I lost the majority of that weight, probably 80 lbs of it, in the first 4 to 5 months. In the last few months it has seemed to taper off a little bit. I think I've been gaining muscle mass so the weight has sort of balanced out a little bit from gaining muscle and losing fat. I can still feel myself getting thinner.
I have tried all kinds of methods to lose weight, just about everything you can think of, and the outcomes were always failure ultimately. It would start out real good and I would be real enthusiastic about it and see some results, but they never did last. The program at Positive Changes Hypnosis made it very easy to lose weight because it completely changed my thoughts about food and the things that I craved were changed. It was a whole lifestyle change. I didn't feel like I was depriving myself at all, and of course to me that was the key to it. You're never going to be able to lose weight or stick to any program that involves deprivation and this completely did away with that. I started seeing results in the first 4 to 5 weeks. I could definitely tell there were changes. The weight loss has been consistent. Once you start the program, learn to how to eat and get in a routine of exercise, it really just falls off with no effort at all, other than a little physical effort with the exercise. Well, no pain, no gain.
My behaviors changed fairly quickly, probably within the first 3 to 4 weeks. There was no control of my eating habits before I came to Positive Changes, or if there was it was very short lived. I would always fall back to eating something I shouldn't have, and it seemed like once I did, I would say since I did that I will do it one more time. Then weeks and weeks would go by and I would notice that I would completely stop trying to lose weight. I was never in control. Now I am completely in control. No problems what so ever. I crave completely different foods now, healthy foods. I wouldn't even think of eating anything unhealthy now. I crave fresh foods and fruits and enjoy going to the supermarket. Those are the only things I buy and I've had checkers comment on how healthy I seem to be buying. I can only imagine how much junk they have seen come across the counter.
Two weeks ago I had a physical with my doctor. Since losing all this weight, my blood pressure is perfect, it's better than perfect. It couldn't be any better. Cholesterol, all that stuff is just great. My doctor is very impressed. I'm at the peak of health right now. Family and friends have all noticed it and continue to notice it. Someone I hadn't seen in 6 to 8 months saw me today and said I'm just a totally different looking person and they can't believe the changes I have gone through. Everyone wants to know how I've done it, what diet have you done? So I explain to them how it happened.
My self-esteem and confidence is very high right now. I don't see any limitations on what I can do now. There are things that I never thought I'd be able to do again that I am doing right now. I am very happy.
The cost of the program, what a small price to pay. A lot of people get a little sticker shock right in the beginning, but once you go through it and you've done it, it's really a very, very small price to pay. I should've done it a long time ago. I'm looking forward to continuing on with my life and being healthy. I had a huge worry prior to losing all the weight, dealing with retirement and continuing on with life, not being able to do things, or being limited on what I wanted to do. I've always loved to go hiking and backpacking, and it's pretty strenuous, and there were a lot of times I couldn't because of my weight. Now I don't have any problems doing it, and I can do whatever I want, and it's much more enjoyable.
The most valuable benefit has to be my health and my self-esteem, knowing that this was the one that finally worked and made the change that I can easily stick with for the rest of my life. The weight loss is permanent. I don't ever see myself getting back to the way I was before. The methods that prevent it now are all natural. That's what Positive Changes has done for me. I would, and have, recommend this program to anybody who wants to make a lasting change and have finally realized that diets don't work. Positive Changes is the way to go. It's worked for me.
