Business Game Changers Radio with Sarah Westall: Cannabis is the Fastest Growing Industry in the U.S. – What You Need to Know Before You Join the RushMarijuana is legal for medical purposes now in 23 states and DC. For recreational use it is fully legal in Alaska, Colorado, Oregon, Washington, and the District of Columbia. Both presidential front-runners, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, are for legalizing Marijuana for medical purposes and many states have drafted legislation to legalize its use in various forms. So, is the market timing right and does it represent a lucrative opportunity to start a business in the industry? Well, that depends on where you live and what your business plan is according to Barry Gainsburg, attorney representing the Cannabis industry.

This episode of Business Game Changers we talk with attorney, Mr. Gainsburg, about the ins and outs of the industry and the many legal challenges that are inherent in selling a product that is still illegal on a federal level.

We also discuss the history of the plant and how it went from being widely used for everything from paper and rope to medicine to being illegal and banned from circulation. This is especially interesting considering that Marijuana has never directly caused a single death and has not been shown to be highly addictive whereas FDA approved drugs are regularly blamed for deaths and can be highly addictive and destructive to the patient's body.

We also discuss the various uses of the plant from clothes to a biodegradable plastic alternative. There are so many uses and we discuss this as well as many other useful facts.

Tune in to hear this interesting and insightful conversation.
