Eric D. Gerst has worked as an attorney and legal consultant for more than 30 years. He was formerly a senior partner in a law firm with offices in Philadelphia and Washington, DC, where he served as general counsel to a national insurance brokerage company, as well as represented various corporations and individuals involved in the insurance business. In addition to testifying before Congress on insurance industry abuses, he made a case to the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee for the establishment of a natural catastrophe insurance fund to protect coastal homeowners. He
