The Becoming You Show with Leah Roling: Inspire, Influence, & Impact Your Life: 17. The Hardest Day of the Year

I debated on what to call this podcast!  I was thinking about making it be something like: Mothers Day special edition, Championing motherhood or Momming ain’t easy.  But neither really embraced the concepts/ideas that I wanted to convey today so instead I named it – the hardest day of the year.

 

Mother's day for so many of us is a beautiful day to reflect on and celebrate not only our mothers but our own mother status. It is an opportunity to re-evaluate our relationships and who it is that are being in them. I am going to offer a 2 of my favorite parenting strategies to do just that.  

 

I also know for many, Mothers day is challenging. 

 

It can be challenging if you are less than impressed with how you were “mothered”.  It can be challenging to celebrate and honor someone whom you needed to be “better” for you.  It is hard to find that “perfect” card that is honest but not harsh.  Hallmark is not making cards that say Happy Mothers Day- I needed you to be better but I hope you still have a good day.

 

Regardless of where you land on your relationship with the actual day itself - I am going to share some ideas that might help support not only your relationship with your own mother and the mother in you  but your relationship with Mothers Day itself.
